Football season is almost here, Kansas City! Chiefs Kingdom is getting ready for another season of big plays, big moments, and plenty of reasons to cheer.
After adding seven players in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chiefs have a new group of rookies looking to make an impact in Kansas City. Here are five we’re especially excited to watch.
1. Mansoor Delane — Cornerback
The Chiefs selected LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane with the No. 6 overall pick, making him the team’s first selection of the 2026 draft.
After an impressive college career, Delane arrives in Kansas City with plenty of attention on him. We’re ready to see what he can do when the lights come on at Arrowhead.
2. Peter Woods — Defensive Tackle
Kansas City selected Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods at No. 29.
A powerful addition to the defensive line, Woods is one of those rookies who could quickly become a player Chiefs fans love watching on Sundays.
We’re expecting some serious defensive energy.
3. R Mason Thomas — EDGE
The Chiefs went back to the defense in Round 2, selecting Oklahoma EDGE R Mason Thomas with pick No. 40.
With his ability to get after opposing quarterbacks, Thomas is another rookie we’re keeping a close eye on as the season gets underway.
4. Jadon Canady — Cornerback
With the No. 109 pick, Kansas City added Oregon defensive back Jadon Canady.
Another young defensive talent joining the secondary means Chiefs fans have plenty of new players to watch when the defense takes the field.
5. Emmett Johnson — Running Back
The Chiefs selected Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson at No. 161 in the fifth round.
We’re excited to see how he fits into the offense and whether he can turn some rookie opportunities into big plays.
Get Ready, Kansas City!
The Chiefs kick off the 2026 regular season at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, September 14, against the Denver Broncos, followed by a Sunday night home game against the Indianapolis Colts on September 20.
